World Time Trial Championships3rd place at Worlds Time Trial in Italy the year Grabsch won. I was expecting Levi to win as he almost won the Vuelta. I think he got 4th. 3rd was pretty unexpected for me as I wasn’t in great shape. I also remember being overcharged for Internet by SwissCom, they are running a racket!

Paris Nice2005 was a magic year. This was for Team GC at Paris Nice. I think Bobby Jullich won the overall. CSC is a team I will never forget.
2004 Team USA Selection Race3rd in a Road Race. I actually won the field sprint with a little flyer at the end. This is the race that really launched Jason McCartney into Pro Road Racing. I won the Time Trial a few days earlier by a lot, and Horner said a few things about my performance that really pissed me off. I raced the road event on pure vengeance and hate and to prove a point. This was a good example of putting your mind to work.

Best Young RiderThis was for the best young rider at a pretty big race for young guys in Italy called Prima Vera something. I won the Time Trial. I remember I was scrambling to find a bathroom before the TT. I found one in a hair salon, but it was a weird squat over a hole thing, but maybe it warmed up my legs doing a 2 minute squat. Yes, the podium girls there were very nice.
