Left the house for an early morning ride in an attempt to beat the rain that was scheduled for today. I went up Topanga Canyon – it seems to be the quickest way off the Pacific Coast Highway (PCH) and takes me straight into the hills. At the top, I went into a small convenience store to get some water. I was wearing DZNUTS gear with our saying, “protect your junk,” on the shorts. Sitting on a bench outside was a homeless woman who gave me a nod and said, “protect your junk – I know how you feel,” as she pointed to her backpack. She proceeded to warn me about how I needed to protect all my junk all the time. I told her the shorts kind of meant something else, but I understood her point.
