All finished up with Volta Catalunya. It’s one of the oldest bike races in the world and one I especially like partaking in because it is close to my Spanish home in Girona. Family was close by all week and I knew most of the roads. I followed our new recruit Michelle Kreder in the car for the prolog to get a feel for it. The roads were wet with a lot of slippery white paint and sharp turns. Michelle is Dutch and thus is a natural in wet conditions. I had to close my eyes on a few parts as he was taking some risks, but he made it through safely and with a very good time. Overall it was a good week for the team. On the first day Pete Stetina got the KOM jersey. Michelle continued to impress everybody the rest of the week – he finished 7th over all while Ryder the HesJ finished 6th. CV had a crash, but did not break anything and finished the race strongly. As for myself, I felt better with each day, which is exactly what I need at this point.
