I raced the Brentwood GP on Sunday.¬† It was nice to blow out the legs and have some fun.¬† I got a few primes. I went as hard as I could for the big $200. but got pipped right at the line.¬† The crowds were impressive. Bahati pulled off the win in a sprint finish.¬† I was rolling in safe with my old buddy/dad, Tony Cruz.¬† The last few laps I kept telling Tony “shake and bake”.¬† I think he was just coming off a break because he was not really into the old ‚Äúshake and bake‚ÄĚ.¬† It was so nice sitting at Peets coffee pinning on my number, which by the way was #69.¬† These women got to talking to me while I was waiting for the bathroom, asking me if I was nervous to race and warning me that 80 minutes is a long time to race.¬† It was pretty entertaining to me.¬† When we were parting ways they asked for my name so they could cheer for me. I showed them my # and said just root for 69!¬† They thought that was pretty funny.¬† Now the only problem I have is I can’t take my race wheels off.¬† It’s just too nice training on these, feels so much better.¬† Today my riding partner flatted himself out of tubes and I didn’t have any on my bike to help out, so I think it’s time to switch back to clinchers and a seat bag.
