Yesterday was a very hard stage. It started out on an uphill and everyone was very nervous in the neutral. I’m not sure if there was an agreement or not between the riders to go easy up the first climb. If there was, I didn’t know about it. I was moving up the side of the road and then the next thing I knew I attacked. There were a few yells and I was thinking what are you doing but it was to late to stop. My attack didn’t do much but I guess it started the aggression. I think most riders wanted to race anyway. The race exploded into pieces and it was all from my attack, well, maybe not. I went back to the group and another break finally got away and was gaining time into us. There was a danger guy in there that posed a threat to Ryder’s top 10 so I helped pull back time on them for the last 40km.
Today was the second rest day. The weather has gotten wet and it looks like it’s sticking around for a bit. Today I rode the trainer for a little bit and then we went to a Chipotle event. They brought us and everyone else burritos. It was awesome to have some food from the USA. Not much went on today, just took it easy in the room for the most part. Tomorrow is the big day of the TDF, mountain top finish up the Tourmalet. Should be interesting.
