We’re closing in on Paris, only 11 stages left in this year’s TDF. Bad new yesterday as Robbie Hunter was in a crash and broke his arm. He’s a tough man and made it through yesterday’s stage and is going to try to start today to see how it feels. My knee is coming around, finally. The heat has been pretty amazing, it might as well be raining because we are all soaked with sweat all day. Downloaded that song from Karate Kid, “You’re the Best”. The guys have been enjoying it on the bus before the starts, well everyone but Tyler who will only listen to butt rock. Actually, I listen to a bit of that myself. Also been listening to that song “I need a hero” and remembering the big showdown in footloose on the tractors. That song was also in the movie, “Who’s Harry Crumb”. Some of the staff have been swapped out, it almost feels like we are at a different race when new faces show up. Getting pictures of the family back home, it’s amazing how much my 2 year old son has grown since my trip began. 50 days is a long time to be away. Well I’ve got to get ready to race. I expect I will have my work cut out for me towing the break back and we’re all hoping for some glory in the sprint today with Tyler.
