The show was exciting. Worked the DZ-Nuts booth. A big shout out to Gibran for all of his help and support. It was nice to connect with the shop owners and distributors who support and love the product. I am excited to finally have the time to get more involved. Good times ahead. Almost everyone that visited the booth had a funny story about DZ-Nuts – and most of the time I’m thinking my nuts are right here listening to all the stories. DZ-Nuts also had the pleasure of meeting Milliegoat Tanner — check her out here on YouTube — she is going to do great things in this sport, I can feel it. I think they really do put O2 in the casinos because I had tons of energy there! Now I just need to catch up on my sleep.
DZ-Nuts went to Interbike this month. Going to Las Vegas is something some people enjoy and some people do not. I don’t think I mind it. I had it all planned to fly there but then thought it would be more fun drive with a group of cyclists from my area, including a young up and coming rider from LA named Cory who will be racing for IRT next year. We made one stop at In and Out as we headed out, even though it was in the opposite direction. It wasn’t very efficient but it had to be done. When we arrived in Vegas, we headed straight to the convention. It’s been a few years since I have been at Interbike and it was super cool to see all the new stuff popping up. Ran into old friends and started planning our trip to Cross Vegas that night. It was a good thing we had a car because apparently taking a shuttle bus to the race sucks. We piled in and started heading for the mountains. We were now waiting for the rest of our group so we could all go in together. We were met by the legend Brian Worthy with a big bottle of something quite tasty that we passed around. There was a Subaru booth setup saying if you were a Subaru owner you could get in for free. I was explaining to the kid that I used to have a Subaru but I had to trade it in as my kids car seats didn’t fit so well in it, and he gave me some tickets! I got to wish Tim Johnson good luck before we walked in. The course looked super fun and I wouldn’t mind trying it out someday. There was a good amount of people watching the race and a lot of people just hanging out with old friends. I got to reconnect with a lot of old friends myself. Had a good funny talk with Mike Creed. Sven Nys won the men’s race and Meredith Miller won the women’s event.
