I recently went to the grand opening of a Lifetime Fitness facility in Laguna Nigel. Was trying to make a spin class taught by the founder of Lifetime, Bahram. Was really looking forward to it, but L.A. traffic had a different plan for me. What was supposed to take 2 1/2 hours ended up taking 6 1/2 hours and I ended up missing the class as traffic standstill the majority of the trip. I wanted to get my bike out of the trunk of the car and just start riding down the I-5 Freeway. I hate being trapped in the car. But we finally made it. Lifetime Fitness was amazing – with levels and levels of cool stuff to do. It’s basically like an adult playground that never ends. I was going there to talk bike safety for Yield to Life. I met Patti who directs their Lifetime Cycle and her husband Al who is in charge of athletic events – one of theirs is Leadville… Always wanted to do that one so perhaps that will be next on my calendar after RAAM. It was nice to connect, talk about Yield to Life and spread our safety messages. I did a ride with their cycling club the next day – almost everyone had a story to tell about an interaction with a motorist. We obviously have our work cut out for us. Ride safely!
